Preparing Your Finances – Get Pre-Approved

To organize your finances to buy a home, you need a mortgage application which will be accepted not only by the banks or the lender, but also by the Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CHMC).

CMHC is the government entity which insures your mortgage against default. Your lender needs to know how to present the information to CMHC. If your application is turned down by either CMHC or G.E. Capital Corp., you may never own a home until you have 20% or more as a down payment.
